What percentage strength is this as I'm looking to swap over from medik8 eye crystal 6 and wanted to know if this one is stronger
At Murad we do not disclose our percentages in our high performance formulas as these are considered proprietary. Dr Murad creates formulas based on performance and results rather than percentages, and never relies on a single star ingredient but a complex of ingredients that enhance results. Percentages become more important in prescription strength formulations where patients are gradually introduced to higher strengths because of the potential for irritation. In the case of Retinal Youth Renewal Eye Serum the results are driven by the unique delivery system and the combination of other actives that accelerate the action of the ingredients and deliver faster results without irritation. New legislation on non prescription retinoids now state the highest percentage available is a 0.3% in Europe, so its helpful to look at the overall formula, how it is delivered and the clinical results when comparing products.
1. The bottle says AM and PM, but the instructions here only say PM. Which is accurate? 2. Do I need a second eye cream in addition?
The retinol eye cream has been tested safe for both AM and PM or you can use Vita C Dark Circle Corrector for day time and keep your Retinol Youth Renewal Eye Serum for night time. Both ways give a bright eye and smoother skin around the delicate eye area.
Is there a trick to getting the product out? It’s a new bottle and I’ve been pumping it for 10 minutes but nothing is coming out. It’s my second purchase and I don’t remember having this problem before.
Try putting the serum upside down over night and gently tapping to release air bubbles. If this doesn’t resolve it then it may be likely the pump is faulty so contact our customer services team to assist.
I use BHA exfoliating serum at night. Would it be recommended to use retinol eye serum in the same routine with the exfoliating serum without irritation?
We would recommend performing a patch test.
Can you/should you use this during the day? Directions are misleading. On the website it primarily says use at night, but on "step 2", the packaging, and on the actual product label it says to use at night and day time. Also, the photo shows that you can apply this on eye lids, but is that true? I have also read that you should not do that.
You want to use it at night to optimize skin’s receptivity and retinol’s potency and because studies show that retinol and sunlight do not go well together. We use a standard format for bottle labels, I do apologize for any confusion caused. When it comes to application, keep it on the orbital bone as your body heat will cause it to spread on the skin.
