Can I use this before my retinol serum at night?
Yes, you can ideed.
In addition to using on my face, can i also use this on my body (chest, back, etc)?
Yes, you can however we do have the Clarifying Body Spray as well.
How should I use this in combination with the Clarifying Cleanser? Do I apply them both at the same time on damp face or do I apply clarifying cleanser first on damp skin, rinse, then apply the toner, then rinse?
What you want to do is cleanse your skin and then pat dry. Apply the toner with a cotton pad and allow to absorb. Then follow with your treatment and finally your moisturizer/SPF.
Is there a reason this does not come in a spray bottle? Can I transfer this to a spray bottle and use it?
The toner contains salicylic acid and the idea is that if you were to put a spray top on it, air can get to the formula and degrade its efficacy.
The ingredient spotlight says this product includes algae extract to reduce shine, but algae extract is a 5 on the comedogenic scale, so how can this be good for acne prone skin? I also don't see algae extract on the full list of ingredients...is it actually in the product, and if so, why is it advertised as non-comedogenic for acne-prone skin?
There is algae in the toner. It is Chondrus Crispus (Carrageenan) Extract. The algae extracts used in skincare are actually highly processed – this means that the beneficial components are retained and concentrated and all other components are removed. The Clarifying Toner is great for those with acne.
