What % of mandalic and salicylic acid does this contain?
Hello Thank you for your question! All Murad products go through safety testing and procedures with FDA and EU guidelines. We don't include the percentages of ingredients on any of our products. Thus being a complex it is not possible to give the exact percentage since it is a formula combination of ingredients. It is worth noting that Dr Murad as a pharmacist and a dermatologist prefers to use complexes and combine with antioxidants and anti inflammatories to give exceptional clinical results within 14 days. He also holds over 19 dermatology related patents, so he really is an expert in this field. However, please note that this product is suitable to AM and PM use. How is this different from the outsmart blemish treatment? I use the outsmart blemish treatment as a preventative measure on areas where I tend to have mild spots. I used the rapid relief spot treatment when I have a specific spot. I don’t suffer from bad spots or acne but sometimes have a few that appear in the same area that I treat. I can’t decide whether to stick with outsmart blemish treatment or try this- what are the main differences/benefits of both?
Hi Lynsey L, This is a new type of technology that targets the bad bacteria that causes breakouts and gently unclogs pores with a blend of salicylic acid and mandelic acid, that also helps even skin tone and reduces post inflammatory hyperpigmentation that is often a concern after the break outs have diminished. The idea is to treat and prevent breakouts with these ingredients that help to keep the skins microbiome in the most healthy condition.
Where does an exfoliant fit into a routine that includes this serum? Or won't I need an exfoliant any more?
Hi Clare, You could use an exfoliant 2-3 times a week. We would recommend our AHA/ BHA Exfoliating Cleanser used in the morning 2-3 times a week as a gentle exfoliating product, or Renewing Cleanser which contains peptides and lactic acid to gently cleanse and exfoliate, if you do not want to use a manual exfoliator. Always go on your skin's own comfort level.
Is the serum gentle enough for mature skin?
Hi Aly P, Yes this serum is ideal for all skin types regardless of age. The treatment is to balance the microbiome and to reduce the communication of bad bacteria to prevent over population of the bacteria that contributes to breakouts, while being super gentle on skin. It is also ideal for people that have breakouts all the time and all over the face.
